Wentworth
I got my letter in the post today from the Australian Electoral Commission, confirming my registration to vote in the electorate of Wentworth. I also received my first Kevin 07 campaign hand-out, for George Newhouse, ALP candidate for Wentworth. Well, it doesn’t tell me anything about his pet dogs like Malcolm’s used to. But there is a photo of him with Ruddy, offering advice to little kids. So you know, that’s enough of a platform. Right?
Maybe George could learn a thing or two about reaching my generation of voters via Web 2.0 from Lachlan Connor, Independent candidate for the Victorian Senate. He might not have many policies but he sure knows how to youtube (and yes, that is now a verb). My favourite episode so far is Episode 31, when Lachlan visits the hub, the centre, the beating heart of democracy in Australia: Canberra.
Speaking of verbs, I actually used the verb “verbed” on purpose in a grammar lesson today. 21st century education, mang.
